Praise the Pogo Gods!!!! I am testing out MONTU 4.2 as I write this. All test were conducted in a 4-player, non-team room with aimlines being active. I also ran the Mix and Match badge "Sacred Scarab" which required 100 powerups used. I just kept resetting the badge over and over during the trial as a backup test.
I went right ahead and created a FAST room WITHOUT curse stones 1) Playing on default "click speed" it came in second against the Pogo Bots many times, getting about 300 rank points each time. 2) Playing on "click speed" slowest it lost every game it played and got 10-50 rank points. 3) Playing on "click speed" fastest it had mixed results, sometimes winning, sometimes coming in fourth. Two problems with fastest speed. Number one, it would sometimes just shoot right up the middle and lose the game. Number two, it would give the dreaded "Rank Not Set" issue with Pogo.
I played a FAST room with CURSE STONES. 1) I played on 3 clicks below fastest "click speed", which I consider default. It got 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 1st, 4th averaging 100 ranks points. 2) When it won, it got an average of 300 rank points. 3) It gets to NIGHTTIME stage about the same time as the first Pogo Bot, which is critical.
I played a SLOW room with no Curse Stones 1) Played on default "click speed" as I restarted MONTU 4.2 It won the first game and got 455 ranks points.
Two things I am finding on several different levels is that there is no button to use the powerups intelligently. Using the remove stones of a color is powerful, especially if you choose CURSE stones as your color. You can stomp people this way. The second is that is sometimes gets stuck shooting up the middle and making a long string until it loses the game.
I will be running my overnight test this evening. I hope to wake up and see rank 35 badge. I am rank 33 right now.
My suggestion to other players is to keep the speed at default.
It is we that thank you. In games like Battle Phlinx, I would be rank 5 and never even consider completing. I could not imagine completing games like Lottso, Tri-Peaks Solitaire and Wonderland Memories. You also allow us to actually play the games we like to play. I play Mahjong Garden a lot to relax. I get more time to do so because I do not have to worry about some stupid Checkers challenge from 2004 that I need to get.
I ran the overnight test and woke up to find I made rank 34. I earned about 15,000 rank points from my rough calculations. I am running a "go to work" test right now and will post my results later.
A few more things I noticed from the trial of MONTU 4.2: 1) It still likes doing the repeat missed shots. A missed shot is where the ball goes all the way through the board and out the other side without sticking. MONTU 4.2 will keep shooting this over and over again until the next row is released. Battle Phlinx will keep giving you back the ball that missed. For example, if the purple ball misses everything, Pogo will keep giving you purple balls until it sticks. 2)POGO likes to crash Battle Phlinx/MONTU 4.2 when a badge is won. This is not a MONTU 4.2 issue as far as I can tell. I was running the "Sacred Scarab" Mix challenge, and everytime MONTU won the badge, Pogo would crash the room. This happened three times. AGAIN I THINK THIS IS A POGO ISSUE. 3) Battle Phlinx is a graphics intensive and internet cache pig. I am not sure how long it will run before POGO will crash itself. This is outside of any issues MONTU might add. For other users, think of it this way. EVERY ball that moves, drops, changes (curse stones) is another little packet of data that needs to be sent to your computer. Recently, I upgraded my Java and this HELPED a lot, giving me probably 4x the amount of Battle Phlinx time. 4) Theorhetical question: What are the GAME ROOM settings for MONTU 4.2? a) First, I STRONGLY suggest that the user NOT change any setting on MONTU 4.2 unless it is losing a lot b) Rank points are earned the following ways i) Number of balls dropped ii) Bonus for largest drop iii) Bonus for playing against actual people iv) Bonus for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd (50 points for first place, 25 for second, 15 for third) v) Bonus for consecutive 1st place, 10 points for each multiple (win 2 in a row, 10 rank points, 3 in a row, 20 rank points, 4 = 30, etc.) c) You only get the points at the end of the game. If you play against real people and you lose 20 seconds into the match and the match goes on for 10 minutes, you have a horrible point/time ratio) d) While point/time ratio is important, point/game is also important. Battle Phlinx likes to crash after too much data has been transferred. It APPEARS that slower games are more Pogo friendly. e) So far, I have been most successful in accumulation of rank points by: i) Not having any Mix and Match challenge activated ii) Starting my browser after clearing the cache and rebooting the computer iii) Playing a 4-player game iv) Playing against Pogo Bots v) Playing on slow (turtle) table vi) Playing without curse/prank stones vii) Playing WITH aimlines activated viii) Not pausing the client to "help win a round" or make the right shot

I have more than 1200 badges, in large part thanks to Oscar. I do not really keep track of tokens, but I have more than 75,000,000 lifetime. I have also completed more than 50 games, without Badgehelp that number would be 5 or maybe 10. I promise that I do not work for BadgeHelp, I am just a complete Badge Ho that needs his fix.
By the way, I have an additional MONTU update. When I play on the "EASY" settings listed above, I regularly get 10 wins in a row. I have found that the bonus for wins in a row caps out at 50 rank points. However, this is still 500 rank points for the streak and 500 rank points for the first place finishes in 10 games. That means that MONTU is getting an additional 1000 rank points every ten games just because Oscar and JP made it smarter.

Have you tried it with team play Joe? I have noticed I win more games in a row when it's set to team play. I won 16 consecutive games on the slow setting, no curse stones, team play. I too have over 1200 badges and almost 100 mill in lifetime, all in part to Oscars help.

I will try the Team play setups. I have been getting great streaks on the 4-player, slow, no curse tables.
It appears that Slow (turtle) tables with no curses stones are the way to go.
I am also noticing that POGO is only stable enough to play Battle Phlinx for about an hour before it runs of memory. This stupid game keeps filling up my cache memory. I have tried in Apple Safari in Windows and Internet Explorer.

Playing the Team Play setups you suggested gave me good results as well. Thanks for the tip. Pogo still crashed after about one hour, as it usually does on this stupid game.
having trouble with jigsaw detective. plays one game then freezes up

Joe,
I just tried playing the regular 4 player mode, slow, no stones,,,,
My first game I got 675 rank points and am on a 35 game winning streak and have completed 5 ranks today. No crashes at all, I did clear my cache before starting and it played well for 5 hours. I'd say this is much better than the team play, I get more rank points and wins, thanks for the heads up :)
No problem. I have been having the cache issues in Battle Phlinx while running Apple Safari on my VISTA machine. I will try running it on Internet Explorer tonight. Thanks for YOUR update on it playing 5 hours. I will try to replicate this.
By the way, the ranks do take a long time in this game. Just wait until the 30s and above.

Everyone can go to www.badgeaddicts.com to see requirements for all premium challenges as well as what is required for each rank of every pogo game, just click "Game Ranks" on right side of page. A lot of useful pogo info on this site.

I just downloaded the new 4.2 and it doesn't even play the game battle Plinx. It gets to the fist page...loads the Bot competitors, and I let the programme start .....and nothing.....
Then I tried playing the game and then the game doesn't even start..I clicked on start and nothing.....so I will bring it up with Pogo as well... SO I guess if it doesn't work for some people then just be pateint...I think that Pogo have... However I will takeon what the above say and see if any of their advice works... kind regards, Lee
